12 octubre Here's the HapsSince that last entry life has been coming at me fast and furiously. The man who passed away is my boss' dad - who was also a big part of our day-to-day operations. My boss is more than my boss. She is also a very, very good friend. And her dad is one of the first people I ministered to on the Reservation when we started the ministry there. I do know that he gave his heart to the Lord before he passed, so that is a comfort. The hard thing is, he died on Friday. I had been counting on being there for those difficult few days and weeks when my boss would be returning back to work. However, it turned out that the following Monday my mom went into the hospital. By Wednesday they'd done all the battery of tests necessary to confirm that she needed open heart surgery. She underwent a triple bipass on September 25. We got her in a rehab hospital on October 2nd, and I flew back out to San Diego on the 3rd to pack up my household and put it into storage and secure my family medical leave from work. On Thursday the 8th I started the drive from San Diego to South Texas with my parakeet and a car full of belongings. I arrived in the McAllen area on the evening of the 9th. They're talking about discharging my mom from the rehab hospital on Friday. This is as much as I can make the time to write at this point in time. When I was doing all that needed to be done to be ready to come out here people kept asking me, "Aren't you tired?" My reply was, 'Probably, but I don't have time to be tired.' Now while we're awaiting Mama's discharge I do have a small space of time to let my body and mind catch a breath or two. I wish I had time to give you a play-by-play on how excellently, how masterfully, and how miraculously every step has been ordered and executed of the Lord in the midst of all this. But I'll just have to leave that to your imagination at this point.
